We’re incredibly proud to share some very special news: Kimberley Allen, co-founder of Broadleaf Midlands Tree Care, has been recognised as one of the UK’s 100 most inspiring female entrepreneurs for 2026.
Kimberley has been featured in Small Business Britain’s prestigious f:Entrepreneur #IAlso100 campaign, which celebrates the achievements of women running successful businesses while driving innovation, growth, and positive impact in their communities.
As a business rooted in sustainability, customer care, and community support, this recognition is not only a personal milestone for Kimberley, but also a proud moment for the entire Broadleaf team.
What is the f:Entrepreneur #IAlso100?
The f:Entrepreneur #IAlso100 campaign shines a spotlight on one hundred exceptional women across the UK who are leading the way in entrepreneurship.
The initiative celebrates female founders who are:
- Building innovative and resilient businesses
- Creating opportunities for others
- Supporting their communities
- Driving environmental and social change
- Challenging traditional ideas of what success looks like
Now in its ninth year, the campaign continues to raise awareness of the vital contribution women make to the UK’s small business economy.
Being included in this year’s line-up places Kimberley among some of the most inspiring and impactful business leaders in the country.
Kimberley’s Journey with Broadleaf Midlands Tree Care
Kimberley co-founded Broadleaf Midlands Tree Care in 2019 alongside Brandon King, with a vision of creating a tree care business that was built around strong values: professionalism, sustainability, accessibility, and community engagement.
Since its founding, Broadleaf has grown into an award-winning, family-run business serving customers across Leicestershire and the wider Midlands.
Broadleaf is recognised not only for its five-star customer service and expert workmanship, but also for its commitment to doing things differently, from the company’s Planet Promise tree planting initiative to supporting local schools, grassroots sports, and environmental education projects.
At its heart, Broadleaf has always been about more than tree surgery. It’s about caring for people, the planet, and the communities we work within.
Recognition Rooted in Real Life
What makes this recognition particularly meaningful is the story behind it.
Broadleaf was created during a challenging and transformative period in Kimberley’s life, following her diagnosis with Lupus, a chronic autoimmune condition that can bring significant daily challenges.
Building a business while managing long-term health has shaped Kimberley’s approach to leadership, resilience, and creating a company that reflects real life, not perfection.
On being featured in the #IAlso100, Kimberley shared:
“This recognition means so much to me. Broadleaf was created during a challenging period of my life, and being part of the #IAlso100 shows that building a business around real life, health and family is not a weakness, but a strength.”
Kimberley is also proud to help raise awareness of Lupus and the incredible work of organisations such as Lupus UK, who provide vital support, information, and advocacy for those living with the condition.
Her journey reflects what so many modern entrepreneurs experience, that success does not have to follow one fixed path, and that strength often comes from navigating challenges with determination and purpose.
Celebrating Female Founders Across the UK
Michelle Ovens CBE, CEO and Founder of Small Business Britain, described the women in this year’s campaign as inspirational role models:
“Their creativity, leadership, and community impact show exactly why supporting female founders is so important.”
Female entrepreneurship continues to make a powerful difference not only socially, but economically. Estimates suggest that up to £250 billion could be added to the UK economy if women started and scaled businesses at the same rate as men.
Campaigns like #IAlso100 help ensure that women’s achievements are recognised, celebrated, and supported.
Looking Ahead
This recognition is a proud moment, but it is also motivation to keep going.
Kimberley and the Broadleaf team remain committed to growing a business that continues to create positive environmental impact, meaningful community support, and high-quality service for customers across the Midlands.
To be included in the #IAlso100 is an honour, and we are excited for what the future holds.
Thank you to Small Business Britain, the f:Entrepreneur campaign, and everyone who has supported Broadleaf on this journey so far.
💚🌿
