How it works
Is there a cost for a quotation?
Not at all! We offer free, no-obligation quotations, starting with a discussion about what is required. Once we have established your requirements and which tree service you need, we will provide you with a free quotation which you can choose to accept or decline. If you would like a quotation, we will aim to book the work at a time that suits you.
How much does tree work cost?
The price depends on many different factors. This includes the type of tree work required, whether large machinery is needed, the length of time it will take to complete the job, the accessibility of the property/site, and so on. Because of all the above variables, we prefer to conduct our quotations in person rather than over the phone to ensure accuracy. Please check out our blog for further information about the cost of tree work.
Will you get rid of the waste and leave it tidy?
Absolutely! Reputable tree surgery companies typically include waste removal in their services. We care about your property just as much as your trees. Once the job has been fulfilled, all waste produced from the tree work shall be cleaned up and removed from the site, unless you request for timber to stay on site. You can also rest assured that we are Licensed Waste Carriers and that our arb chip is recycled into biomass.
Do I need to be present during tree work?
While it’s not always necessary, being present during your planned work allows you to discuss specific requirements with the tree surgeon on fencing operative and address any concerns in real-time. At Broadleaf Midlands Tree Care, our quoting system allows us to add photos and annotations to each work item, so our team and customers can be both visually and verbally clear on the schedule of works.
Legal Considerations
Are you insured and licensed?
We have all the necessary qualifications for the work we undertake and we carry £10 Million in Public Liability Insurance. Some larger projects require special licenses, certifications, and/or permissions but our team of specialist tree surgeons will be happy to discuss these with you in person or over the telephone.
Is my tree protected by the council?
Some specific trees are protected by a Tree Preservation Order (TPO). Or, depending on where you are located, you might live in a Conservation Area where your trees or hedges are already protected. We can guide you on this during the quotation phase, and if required, complete the application for you for a small fee.
What can I do with overhanging branches?
If your neighbours’ branches are overhanging your property, you have the legal right to cut these branches. However, we cannot trespass over to their side or climb the tree if they do not permit us to do so. We have a letter that can be provided to neighbours regarding tree works to support this process.
Can trees be worked on during nesting season?
It is highly recommended by the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 that tree services should be avoided during nesting season. However, the tree may be worked on if there is a significant risk in not doing so. Our arborist teams can discuss this with you during your quotation. You can also take a look at our blog discussing nesting season in more detail.
Tree Services
What is tree surgery?
Tree surgery, or arboriculture, involves the professional care and maintenance of trees, including pruning, removal, and planting.
Why is tree surgery important?
Tree surgery is essential for maintaining tree health, ensuring safety, and promoting proper growth. It also helps in disease prevention and aesthetics.
When should I consider tree surgery?
Tree surgery may be necessary for various reasons, such as diseased or damaged trees, overgrown branches, potential hazards, or to enhance the overall appearance of your property.
What kind of tree work do you do?
We provide a range of tree, hedge, and stump services across Leicestershire, tailoring each job safely to your requirements. We undertake tree maintenance including pruning, pollarding, trimming and felling, storm-damage clearing, hedge trimming and shaping, stump grinding and removal, and wood chipping. Take a look at our services pages for more information.
Is tree surgery dangerous?
Tree surgery can be hazardous, especially for large or complex jobs. Professional tree surgeons are trained, equipped, and insured to handle these risks safely, and at Broadleaf Midlands Tree Care we take Health and Safety very seriously. We are backed up with £10 million in Public Liability to provide you with additional reassurance.
How can I find a reliable tree surgery company?
Look for companies with certified arborists, positive reviews, and comprehensive insurance. Recommendations from friends, family, or neighbours can also help in finding a trustworthy tree surgeon. I have limited access. Would this be an issue?
No, not at all. We have access to a range of machinery to suit various accesses. In the case of no access at all, we have completed tree work in the past by going through customer houses. We will always look for the safest and most efficient extraction method and communicate this with you during the quotation stage.
What happens with the tree stump?
If you have a tree removed, then a tree stump can be left in the garden if you wish. However, if you wish to have your stump ground out, then we can remove the root ball from the ground using our specialist stump grinding machines which completely detach the stump’s root system. The stump is turned into ‘mulch’ which is used to fill in the hole.
Do you provide emergency tree services?
We are more than happy to support you with any emergency tree services. We have supported some of our customers with various emergency works promptly. During winter months, we get called out to many storm-damaged trees and can be flexible with our diaries to ensure the safety of our customers.
